There’s a buttery softness to silver that is tangible, (literally. That silver is a precious metal is not a new idea to me. What is new—and honestly still a bit astounding—is what has happened to the price of silver over the last two years. It has more than quadrupled.
January 01, 2026
As we move toward the end of the year, I find myself wanting to pause for a moment—to take a breath, look around, and really think about what’s next. With 2026 on the horizon, it feels like the right time to share some of the changes happening at LBJ and the thinking behind them.
One of the most immediate changes you’ll notice is our studio hours. Like many small businesses, we’re adjusting our schedule to better reflect how we actually work, create, and serve our community. These changes are about sustainability—making sure LBJ continues to be a place of creativity, connection, and care, not just for our customers, but behind the scenes as well.
Another major factor influencing change is the cost of materials—especially metals. Over the past year, the price of sterling silver has tripled. That’s a dramatic shift, and one that impacts every part of jewelry making, from design decisions to pricing to sourcing. It’s impossible to ignore, and honestly, it shouldn’t be ignored.
Instead, I’m choosing to look at this moment as an opportunity.
Rising metal prices have pushed me to reexamine everything: materials, processes, designs, and even long-held assumptions about how things “should” be done. That kind of reevaluation can feel uncomfortable, but it’s also incredibly valuable. In business—and in life—being forced to slow down and look with fresh eyes often leads to better, more intentional choices.
As we move forward, LBJ will continue to evolve. Some things may look different, but the heart of the work remains the same: thoughtful design, quality materials, meaningful experiences, and jewelry made with care.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Pausing doesn’t mean standing still—it means moving forward with intention. And that feels like the right way to head into 2026.
Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays!
As we head into the winter season, I’m adjusting studio hours and opening up the new winter workshop calendar—and I’m excited to share what’s coming up!
This year we're taking a break between December 25 and January 1. We will be open December 24, 12-3.
Beginning in January, the studio will be open during the following hours:
Thursdays: 12–6
Fridays & Saturdays: 12–8
Sundays: 2–6
*or by appointment
The winter workshop calendar is officially up, featuring new classes and seasonal favorites. Workshops are held in my intimate studio setting and focus on creating sophisticated, wearable pieces using high-quality gemstones and materials. All workshops are designed as make-and-take experiences, so you’ll leave with something beautiful you made yourself.
Spots are limited and tend to fill quickly, especially on weekends.

Winter is a great time to slow down, get creative, and treat yourself (or someone else) to something special. I hope these new hours make it easier for you to visit, shop, and create with me this season.
I look forward to seeing you in the studio!
