Silver has always been a precious metal - to me.

January 25, 2026

I’ve always known that silver is a precious metal. I’m a silver girl. There’s a buttery softness to silver that is tangible, (literally). And taking it to a high shine is very rewarding when I'm working with it. I’ve always preferred silver - not just as a jeweler, but I like wearing it. - That silver is a precious metal is not a new idea to me. What is new—and honestly still a bit astounding—is what has happened to the price of silver over the last two years. It has more than quadrupled.

In July I wrote a blog post  about metal prices - I couldn't believe silver was almost $40 an ounce. We are in January - 6 months later - probably hitting $100 an ounce this week. The price of silver has more than doubled since my blog post then. When you really stop and think about that, it’s kind of jaw-dropping.

For a small business, a shift like this raises a lot of questions. Everywhere I look, I read about people using alternative metals, minimizing their use of silver, or finding creative ways to work around rising costs. And I get it—those are practical responses to a very real challenge.

But here’s the thing. Our work is built around gemstones and semi-precious stones, thoughtful design, careful craftsmanship—and silver. That foundation isn’t changing.

As I head to Tucson for the umteenth time I will be purchasing the best stones I can get for our 2026 designs. There's not a lot I can do about the price of silver. Just know that when you purchase a piece from us, what you are buying is the stone, the design, the craftsmanship, the service and the silver itself—a very precious metal.

The Warm & Fuzzy Magic of Being in Baltimore in my little rock and jewelry shop
The Warm & Fuzzy Magic of Being in Baltimore in my little rock and jewelry shop

December 03, 2025

I opened this shop because I love stones, I love making jewelry, and I love sharing that joy with others. But I could never have imagined how much energy you would bring in with you. How your excitement would amplify mine. How the simple act of holding a rock—something ancient, something that existed long before us and will exist long after—could connect us all so deeply.
