Look at this color!

When I walk around a Gem Show, rarely does something jump off the table and knock my socks off. That's just about what happened when I first saw Emerald Rose Variscite. I was shopping at one of the Otteson family tables, and the green and patterning of the rare Variscite had me saying ‘What the heck is this?’

Emerald Rose Variscite is a type of variscite, a hydrated aluminum phosphate mineral. It is primarily found in the Eskisehir Province of Turkey, nestled in the Anatolian region known for its rich geological diversity. The formation of Variscite involves a complex interplay of geological processes over millions of years, resulting in the creation of these mesmerizing gemstones.

Variscite was not unknown to me, but I had never seen this color range, and the beautiful patterning.

What sets Emerald Rose Variscite apart is its enchanting color palette. True to its name, this gemstone showcases shades of emerald green interwoven with delicate rose hues, creating a visual spectacle reminiscent of blooming roses in a lush garden. The color variations within Emerald Rose Variscite can range from soft pastels to deeper, more vibrant tones, offering a wide array of options for jewelry designers and collectors.

The intricate swirls and streaks within Emerald Rose Variscite often resemble abstract paintings, making each stone a work of art in its own right.

Emerald Rose Variscite is often associated with themes of love, healing, and harmony. Some believe that wearing or meditating with Emerald Rose Variscite can promote emotional balance, compassion, and a deep connection with nature.

We’re always looking for the deep green hues in our accent pieces! Adding this stone to your jewelry collection is a no brainer. Here, with gorgeous, natural, green Burma Jade - also a fan favorite for daily wear.

At LBJ, we love the unique coloration and patterns of Emerald Rose Variscite and we’ve been incorporating it into current collections and will be continuing to do so in the future!

Proper care ensures that your Emerald Rose Variscite jewelry retains its beauty and luster for years to come. Here are some tips for maintaining these precious pieces:

  • Gentle Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to gently wipe the surface of the gemstone and remove any dirt or residue. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners that can damage the stone.
  • Storage: Store your Emerald Rose Variscite jewelry in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box to prevent scratches and minimize exposure to sunlight or heat.
  • Avoid Impact: While Variscite is relatively durable, it can still be susceptible to impact and scratches. Avoid wearing your jewelry during activities that may subject it to rough handling or contact with hard surfaces.
  • Occasional Polishing: Periodically polish your Variscite jewelry with a jewelry polishing cloth to maintain its shine and brilliance.

Emerald Rose Variscite is more than just a gemstone; it's a testament to the beauty and wonder of nature's creations. With its captivating color, intricate patterns, and symbolic significance, this gem has captured the hearts of many gemstone enthusiasts and jewelry aficionados worldwide. Whether adorning a piece of jewelry or serving as a decorative accent, Emerald Rose Variscite continues to enchant and inspire, inviting us to appreciate the artistry that lies within the Earth's treasures.
