May 30, 2023

Are you just generally confused about necklace lengths and types and not sure where to start? Which lengths and style of necklaces with a pendant or chain necklaces will suit you and your neckline best?

  1. Choker: Typically around 14 inches (35 cm) in length, a choker sits snugly around the neck. It's a short necklace style that can complement both casual and formal outfits.

  2. Princess: This classic necklace length is approximately 18 inches (45 cm) long. The princess length necklace falls just below the collarbone, making it a versatile choice that works well with different necklines.

  3. Matinee: A matinee necklace is usually about 20 to 24 inches (50-60 cm) long. It falls at the center of the chest and is a popular choice for both casual and formal occasions.

  4. Opera: An opera necklace measures around 28 to 36 inches (70-90 cm) in length. It's a longer necklace style that can be worn as a single strand or doubled up to create a layered look. The opera length is often chosen for formal events or as a statement piece.

  5. Rope: Also known as a lariat or sautoir, a rope necklace is typically longer than 36 inches (90 cm). It can be worn in various ways, such as a single long strand, knotted, or layered. Rope necklaces offer versatility and can be styled to suit different outfits.

It's important to note that these lengths are general guidelines, and actual necklace lengths may vary slightly depending on the design and the brand. Additionally, personal preferences and body proportions can influence the ideal necklace length for an individual.
