Reviving Tradition: Modern Elegance with LBJ’s Multi-Stone Choker Necklaces

January 19, 2024

I’ve been playing with multi-stone jewelry for a while at LBJ. Starting with cluster rings and moving on to bracelets and pendants. Remember the Harmony Pendant series featuring beautiful, natural, green jade?

 Or the dragonflies?

Even though there’s usually one focal to most LBJ pieces, I have committed to a couple of collections of pieces using stones that came together. Or multiples of the same stone to pronounce its impact. I love creating these pieces, and many are still available and sell as soon as we have the time to make them and put them on display in the shop!

I don’t know what it is that draws me to the idea of bringing multiple stones together in a design - maybe there's more of an opportunity to create a distinct look as the designer. But, in the fashion world, certain trends withstand the test of time, and keep showing up time and again, and thus is case with the multi-stone choker necklace. Even so, I like to think that at LBJ we have out own, unique take on the idea.

The fascination with tight chokers embellished with an array of stones can be traced back through various historical periods. These necklaces have graced the necks of royalty and adorned the ensembles of influential figures, making them a symbol of opulence and refinement.
During the Renaissance era, elaborate chokers were worn as a sign of wealth and social status. Intricately designed with an abundance of gemstones, these necklaces became a coveted accessory among the elite. Fast forward to the Victorian era, where the choker regained popularity, often featuring precious stones such as diamonds, pearls, and sapphires.

At Linda Blackbourn Jewelry, the fusion of age-old charm and modern sensibility takes center stage with the newest Multi-Stone Choker Necklaces. Inspired by a rich tradition of multi-stone jewelry, these necklaces are reimagined to seamlessly integrate into the wardrobe of today's modern woman – a woman who effortlessly transitions from casual denim to elegant attire.

With modern and western stones like Turquoise, Spiny Oyster and Lapis Lazuli - minimally set in Sterling Silver - these pieces are designed to be impactful but easy to wear in a modern context. Picture a casual day in jeans. The Multi-Stone Choker Necklace effortlessly elevates your look - without really knowing it’s there.

Transform your ensemble for a special occasion with the same Multi-Stone Choker Necklace. The versatility of these pieces shines through as they seamlessly transition from day to night. The stones speak for themselves. Whether it's a dinner date or you're pulling on your cowboy boots, these necklaces add a touch of easy sophistication, making you stand out in the crowd.

With a nod to tradition and a focus on modern - these Multi-Stone Choker Necklaces will effortlessly become an integral part of today's woman's wardrobe. Elevate your style, celebrate tradition, and embrace the beauty of timeless jewelry with Linda Blackbourn Jewelry's new “classic” multi-stone creations.
