I call this a Portrait Pendant because while this is a natural stone the formations inside look like little ink paintings. These Agates are usually colorless, white, or gray, and have often tree or fern-like inclusions of iron or manganese, called dendrites. This one is about 12X22mm and is enhanced by minimally designed .925 Sterling Silver accent around -- oxidized and left brushed -- traditional silversmithing techniques done in my Kensington, MD studio. 6 banded agate stones flank each side of delicate .925 Sterling Silver chain. "Rustic" finish -- oxidized and sanded, not burnished. Closes with .925 Sterling Silver Lobster Clasp.
Dendritic Agate is known as the Stone of Plentitude. It brings abundance and fullness to all areas of life, from business to agricultural endeavors. It was associated with the ancient Greek dryads, woodland and tree spirits, and was buried in the fields at the time of sowing to ensure a good harvest.
