With Linda Blackbourn Jewelry "Edge" posts, you will receive stud earrings created using age-old silversmithing techniques with .925 Sterling Silver and high-grade semi-precious stones. This post earring has a modern design using the oxidization of the .925 Sterling Silver to create a shadowbox effect. The 6mm bezel set stone is surrounded by a recess of black and then the high polish "edge" of sterling silver. Most people end up with more than one pair of these favs!!
Gorgeous 6mm turquoise cabochons -- Robins egg blue -- stunning color -- looks like sleeping beauty turquoise. American turquoise -- set in .925 Sterling silver serrated bezels with sterling silver shadow box accent, .925 sterling silver posts and titanium clutches. 6mm stone -- 10mm measurement total. Traditional silversmithing done in my studio in Kensington, MD.
Turquoise is perhaps the oldest stone in man’s history, the talisman of kings, shamans, and warriors. It is a stone of protection, strong and opaque, yet soothing to the touch, healing to the eye, as if carved from an azure heaven and slipped to earth. Its unique shade of blue, often blue-green, lends its name, Turquoise, to all things of this tranquil hue. The delicate veining or mottled webbing in cream or brown is inherent to the stone and serves to enhance its character.
All jewelry designs are created using natural gemstones. There will be some natural variation in the jewelry. Our best is done to represent colors and markings in our photos. At Linda Blackbourn Jewelry, I've tried my best to describe everything as accurately as possible -- in words and photos. Gemstones vary, of course, as do computer monitor screens, so there may be minor discrepancies.
